The people will have their say in the insurance tangle snaring single-family home owners on the village’s waterfront.

A public meeting has been set to find out if there is a public will to crack open the Official Community Plan (OCP) and zoning bylaws to amend them and allow single-family homes on the waterfront.

The Province will fund a new Habitat for Humanity project in Grand Forks that will provide seven affordable homes for men with developmental disabilities.

The provincial contribution of $242,016 was made available through the January 2011 sale of Hardy View Lodge, a vacant building that was owned by the Province.

Earlier this week Nelson Police placed a 27-year-old transient male under arrest on charges of sexual assault, sexual interference and uttering threats.

The arrest happened Monday.

The victim in this matter is a 13-year-old female who had been reported missing by the RCMP from a neighbouring community.
