Dear Editor, As a visitor to the very pleasant town of Castlegar, and when visiting Red Mountain, I slipped on the ice in the parking lot. It was a hard fall, and I felt it should be checked out by the First Aid attendants in the Ski Patrol Booth.
The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture presents Barney Bentall, sponsored by Teck, Trail Operations. Bentall will be fresh from the Olympics, having welcomed the torch with his group the Grand Cariboo Opry and playing free shows in Whistler Village during the games. He will be arriving at the Rossland Miners' Hall Sunday March 14th.
A red letter day for Rossland's recreation infrastructure today. This afternoon, Jim Abbott, MP for Kootenay-Columbia, announced two grants designed to strengthen the local economy. Red Resorts will receive repayable funding to the tune of $670 000 through the community Adjustment Fund to upgrade and expand the lodge into a “fully accessible four season conference centre”.
Kudos to the doctors and nurses who have had the courage to speak out about the proposed cutbacks in the OR department at KBRH in Trail. I would like to throw in my two bits' worth and make it personal.
Between 11:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. today a rotating group of at times 30 or more strong protested what they believed to be the steady and continuous destruction of our area's healthcare system.
