Kootenay Rhythm Dragons roll out red carpet for public to ride the dragon Saturday at Lakeside Park

It's popular to slay the dragon.

Now locals can ride the dragon Saturday (May 26) at Lakeside Park.

The Kootenay Rhythm Dragons would like to offer locals a chance to take a ride in the club's boat.

"This is the team’s big “Thank You Nelson” for all the community support received for eight years. They are also recruiting new members for a second team," said a team spokesperson.

From 10 a.m. to noon the public is welcome to head on down to Lakeside Park for a ride.

Coffee and muffins are being provided by the Grounded Coffee Shop.

There is a small fee of $5 to cover insurance for guest paddlers.

Paddles and life jackets are available for adults. Anyone under 19 should bring a parent and a life jacket.

The Kootenay Rhythm Dragons encourage the public to come ans see the fun and how easy it is to make that dragon fly across the water.
