Aboriginal Art Camp was a huge success for the 20+ children who took part. The two-week camp consisted of making aboriginal musical rattles, drums and button blankets, as well as fun in the sun at the local creek and neighborhood pools. Bonnie Vickers, Aboriginal educator for School District 20, led the children in aboriginal teachings, traditions and art work. Blueberry Creek Community School Hub was able to offer this full-day program free of charge with the support of 2010 Legacies Now, Ministry of Education, School District 20 and Columbia Power Corporation. The camp finished up with an art show and celebration in front of a large audience consisting of friends and family and school board trustees on July 24th.
