It has been a year since H.O.P.E. Creative Initiatives introduced itself to the Castlegar community, according to coordinator, Shauna Robertson.

“We are an art based non-profit social enterprise supported with the services of Castlegar Mental Health and Substance Use,” Robertson said.

Members of the H.O.P.E. enterprise are involved in making and selling artistic products while also offering education about mental well-being and how to access resources for mental health and addictions.

The artisans of H.O.P.E Creative Initiatives will be selling candles in the lobby of the Castlegar Health Centre on Friday, Nov. 4 and Friday, Nov. 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Also for sale will also be some cards and other items made by members of the enterprise. The public is welcome to view the candle-making studio at the Health Centre between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. each sale day.

“As we learn together through creating a viable candle making enterprise, we are proud to provide gifts of light and beauty to our community,” said enterprise member Shemmaho Goodenough.
