Heavy snow hampers recycling pick-up/transit services

Recent heavy snowfalls have created havoc with local services, including recycling pick-ups and transit services.
“The City of Castlegar released the following notice today, “Due to the major snow event, some areas of the City did not have their recycling collection done on their collection day yesterday.
“Our collection contractor, Waste Management, will be completing their collection today so please leave your recycling out for pickup.
“The City apologizes for the inconvenience this may have caused.”
Meanwhile, BC Transit issued the following email alert yesterday:
“#42 Columbia Heights will not be serviced until further notice due to snow conditions restricting the route. Service will resume once the route can accommodate Transit buses. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
“This alert became active on Jan 24, at 5:04 p.m. Pacific Standard Time and will expire on Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.”
