Kootenays send large squad to BC Championships

The BC Summer Swim Association has been in operation since 1958. With affiliates over 60 clubs in 60 communities in BC., the association hands out awards in four aquatic sports: Speed Swimming, Diving, Synchro & Water Polo during the annual championships, this year hosted this past weekend in Surrey.

The Kootenay Region sent a team consisting of swimmers from Nelson, Trail, Castlegar, Kimberley, Creston and Grand Forks. Swimmers qualified at the Kootenay Regional Championships held earlier this month in Trail.

The BC Summer Swim Association Championships were held at the Surrey Sport and Leisure Complex.
