MarWest provides update on Columbia Avenue construction

This week the crew is working on the Main water line, prepping the portion between 13th and approx. Sunlife Financial for curbs and sidewalks.

The crew is trying to keep the dust down but with the temperature being so high it is virtually impossible to keep the road moist. If they drench it, then we run the risk of bigger potholes, which means grading, which then defeats the purpose of watering, an unfortunate vicious cycle.

You will notice a change in the entrance and egress to Tim Horton’s in the next day or two, there will be signs erected later on the 31st so patrons of affected business will have clearly marked Entrance and Egress access. All businesses are still open but please obey traffic signs and Traffic Control Personnel, who as always, are there for the safety of motorists, pedestrians and workers.

The left turn lane going into the No Frills Plaza is blocked off; however there IS left turning available. As there is no South bound traffic, motorists can either turn left or go straight from the same lane.

Thank you again, your patience is greatly appreciated.
