The first annual Parade of Programs at the Castlegar Complex Sept. 9 was, by all accounts, a grand success, with hundreds of people filing through and dozens of community groups represented.

Susan Olheiser, representing Blueberry Creek Community School Hub, said the idea is a terrific one and she’s glad to have participated.

“We’ve had really good feedback from parents and families (regarding the event),” she said. It’s a great opportunity for local organizations.”

Other organizations on hand included Steve Nash basketball, The Castlegar Rebels, Castlegar and District Health Watch, Castlegar Minor Hockey’s annual hockey swap, Karla Pierce Studios …not to mention environmental action groups, preservation societies and more.

For more information about the groups and activities available in Castlegar, call the Complex at 250-365-3386.

The event was such a hit, Complex staff say you can now watch for it to come back every year.
