As part of its winter preparations, the City of Castlegar is ‘bringing down the bump’ on Columbia Avenue Thursday, so motorists shoould plan for delays, according to a press release issued Tuesday.

“On Thursday, Oct. 22, residents can expect delays when travelling along north Columbia Avenue,” the release said..”Traffic will be single lane, alternating, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. while the City makes proactive repairs to smooth the uneven transition at the Canadian Pacific (CP) rail crossing near 17 Street. These upgrades are also part of the City’s preparations for winter.”

An alternative route is available between north and south Castlegar via the Kinnaird and Robson bridges, past the airport.
