The Saints hockey team will open regular season play with a double header versus Trinity Western University this weekend (Sept 26,27) at the Castlegar Complex.

The Saints are hoping to build off of a very successful and encouraging training camp that saw over 40 players attend and compete for a spot on the team.
“This is the most players we’ve ever had in camp and the majority is coming with junior A and B experience” comments Kim Verigin, Athletic Director of Selkirk College.

Verigin continues, “It’s great to see many local players wanting to continue their hockey careers while they pursue a post secondary education. The college schedule is less demanding than junior hockey which allows students to focus more on their studies and/or part time work.”

The Saints compete in the BCIHL along with Simon Fraser University, Trinity Western University, University of the Fraser Valley, University of Victoria and new members Thompson Rivers University and Okanagan College.

Game times this weekend are 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.

Please call Kim Verigin at 250-368-1991 for more information.
