Local musician/song writer/vocal artist Reiss Zibin, 21, will be releasing her new video in just minutes – and it’s one that will excite locals because it was filmed here in Castlegar and featured many local extras, not to mention the production/direction talents of locals Geoff Fontes and Dan Caverly.

The video, showcasing the single I Should Have Known from the album Reality will be released on You Tube, as well as on Zibin’s Facebook page and website, at precisely 3 p.m. today. (Click here to watch ).

“It’s sure a proud moment, to be able to film this in the Kootenay region; my hometown,” Zibin said. “It’s really cool.”

She said they’ve applied for the video to be played on Much Music, and hope to generate a lot of interest in the You Tube posting.

Meanwhile, Zibin is working on her second album (Reality was her first, and was released in 2014).

“I’ve been spending a lot of time in the studio lately – I’m just starting to record songs and I hope to release the second album by mid-winter of 2016. It’s hard to judge, right now, exactly how long it will take.”

Zibin said she’s beside herself with excitement over the video, which she said turned out even better than she had hoped.

“Geoff and Dan (producers/directors) did such an awesome job on this video, I’m really lucky,” she said.

“Huge thanks to them, and to everyone else who was involved,” she added. “I was blown away by how many people showed up and pitched in and were a part of the whole process – it was a big process. I’m really appreciative of what they did for me.”

She said the video was an enormous undertaking for everyone involved.

“But it was totally worth it, it turned out amazing,” she said.
