NPD detain 21-year-old transient male after disturbance

Nelson Police detained a 21-year-old transient male in cells after a yelling match at a local homeless center.

Tuesday (March 20), 2012, at 11 a.m. Nelson Police received a report of a male causing a disturbance.

When officers arrived at the downtown location they found man still yelling and swearing. Police attempted to calm the suspect down but he refused to comply and was subsequently arrested.

The suspect, who is well known to police, was detained briefly at Nelson Police cells and released on conditions not to attend the homeless center.

He will appear in Nelson Provincial Court on June 5, 2012, charged with resist arrest and cause a disturbance.
