Police ask for public info after armed robbery in Robson

Police are asking for public assistance after an armed robbery Friday evening, according to RCMP Sgt. Laurel Mathew.

 

“On March 7 at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Castlegar RCMP received a complaint of an armed robbery at Johnny’s grocery, located on Broadwater Road in Robson. The suspect male entered the store and brandished a firearm, ordering the employee to open the till. The employee complied, and the suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of money. Neither of the two employees who were present were injured. The suspect fled on foot and has not yet been apprehended.”

She said the man is described as: Caucasian, approximately 5’6″, slender build.

“He was dressed in black and was wearing a black mask and had a hood pulled down over his head/face. There is no known vehicle associated at this time.

“Castlegar RCMP, the Kootenay Boundary Regional General Investigation Section, and Forensic Identification services are continuing to investigate this matter.
