UPDATE: Missing Midway man found, safe and sound

In a press release issued Tuesday morning, police said Matthew Straume is safe and sound and the search is called off.
“The Midway CMP has just confirmed that … Straume has made contact with a family member and is safe,” the release said.
“The Midway RCMP would like to thank the media and general public for their assistance in trying to locate Matthew.”

The Midway RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Matthew Straume (Born Jan 7, 1976), who was last seen around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13 near Greenwood.
Straume was planning on taking his ATV from Greenwood to Beaverdell, using forest service roads, but did not arrive in Beaverdell and has not been heard from since.
Straume is described as being approximately 5’8 tall, 170lbs, stubble on his face, with short, curly brown hair. The ATV is red, unknown make or model.
