Weekly Project Update : Columbia Ave. Redevelopment - Phase 2

Last week Copcan worked on the grouting of manholes and catch basins, placing landscape rocks, finishing remaining concrete, and cleaning up the construction site.
Next week, you can expect to see:
- final landscaping;
- general site completion and clean-up;
- installation of the final signs; and
- the contractor de-mobilizing equipment and staff as the project nears completion.
Traffic
For part of the project, northbound was detoured off Columbia Avenue to 6th Avenue from 20th to 24th Street. The detour replaced single-lane alternating traffic which kept traffic flowing and minimized delays. It also improved safety by giving workers and equipment more space, improved driving surfaces for drivers by taking them out of the unpaved construction area, and improved productivity by detouring traffic away from the construction activities.
Columbia Avenue is now re-open to two-way traffic and the detour is no longer in effect. The City and contractor thank all homes, businesses, and commuters in the detour area for your patience and support.
