Environment Canada has issued a Special weather statement Friday for Highway 3 — Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass.
Environment Canada said heavy rain is expected, with snow accumulations near the summit for Highway 3 Friday morning.
“A weather system continues to give heavy rain over Kootenay regions — snow level is currently near 1700 meters,” Environment Canada said.
The noose has been tightened yet again as the province has increased restrictions on what unvaccinated families are able to do in order to boost the rates across the province and the Interior Health region.

More people in B.C. will start to receive invitations for a COVID-19 booster shot as the Province continues its COVID-19 immunization plan, prioritizing B.C.'s elderly and most at-risk through to the December holiday.
The plan expands to include all British Columbians 12+ beginning in January 2022.
