The Insurance Corporation of BC said in a media release that the recent snowfall on B.C.'s South Coast has led to a sudden increase in reported claims.

ICBC said on Tuesday, November 29, claims increased by 94% (3,567) compared to Tuesday of the week prior (1,837).

Castlegar Fire Department received a 911 call for a vehicle fire at 525 Columbia Avenue at 8:35 a.m. Command 1 Rescue 1 and Engine 1 responded with six members.
