Osprey Community Foundation recently welcomed a rather large donation from the Wildlife Genetics International.

Dr. David Paetkau and Wildlife Genetics International staff made a generous $5000 donation to Osprey’s Community Fund.

The Osprey Community Foundation grants support new or existing programs, capital projects, research, public awareness projects and/or innovation.

The Real Estate Foundation of British Columbia recently announced that its awarding $550,127 in funding to thirteen non-profit projects across British Columbia — among the recipients is Nelson's Selkirk College.

The West Kootenay Toy Run is just around the corner but those riders wanting to get a head start on the rest of the field check out the first annual Ride to Support Veterans Sunday beginning in Trail.

For a small fee of $20 per bike, motorcycle enthusiasts can have a little fun while raising funds for veterans needing treatment for trauma and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

It's that time of year again and the West Kootenay Kennel Club is hosting it's 36th Annual All Breed Championship Dog Show at the Castlegar Communicty Church Soccer Field (the old Kinnaird Middle School) from August 17 - 19.

With the 25th anniversary run just around the corner, the West Kootenay Toy Run is stepping things up a  notch.

For starters it is really a pleasure to be able to offer you all a chance at two raise money for the food-banks, women's shelters and families of the Kootenays.
