Castlegar fire chief Gerry Rempel will be blazing a trail Sunday morning as he carries the Olympic torch along one leg of its local journey – and he's promised to quell his natural instinct to extinuish the fire.
“This is one fire I'll let burn,” he assured The Source.
Rempel said he didn't even apply to carry the torch – and was so stunned by the honour that...
Celgar continues to try to intimidate and coerce the City of Castlegar and its citizens to reduce or eliminate taxes. Hopefully, the city council will strongly resist Celgar’s demands...
Dear editor,
Last week the three male judges of the BC Appeal Court ruled that they agreed
with the rules of the International Olympic Committee and the female ski jumpers were banned in partaking in the 2010 Games.
In other words, the I.O.C. regulations overrule the human rights laws that are supposed to protect the citizens of this weak-kneed country.

You may ask, “What is a youth worker?” Well, youth workers are professionals who focus on infants, children and adolescents, with...
In a rare moment of accord, Celgar officials say they are as pleased as City of Castlegar representatives at the outcome of this year's Union of B.C. Municipalities (UBCM) convention.
Celgar manager Al Hitzroth said the UBCM resolution urging the provincial government to re-examine major industry taxation in B.C. is good news.
“I'm still disappointed in the provincial...

It is obvious that your not meant to be a journalist. Grow a thicker skin fast. Or get in the tv news game. Either way grow-up and stop whinning. It's not about you, stop being so self absorbed, no one cares if your...
