Police are searching for a man in hopes of having a conversation with him and ensuring that he and those around him are safe, but not in connection with any crime, according to Trail top cop RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.

“On Oct. 18, at 3:13 a.m. the Trail and District Detachment RCMP received a report of a suspicious male going by the name of ‘Kyler’ who was hitchhiking in the area of Trail and Castlegar,” Wicentowich said.  “The male is described as African Canadian, approximately 40 years old, 6’0” tall, and has a slim build.  The male was wearing a white snowsuit and carrying a backpack covered with locks.  His last known location was in Fruitvale.”

“The RCMP would like to speak to this male about an incident over the weekend.  The RCMP caution the public not to approach the male or pick him up if he is hitchhiking.

“Please report any sighting immediately to the Trail and Greater District Detachment RCMP at 250-364-2566 if he is spotted in the area.”
