Body of local man recovered from Kootenay Canal
The body of 29-year-old Castlegar man Josh Evin was recovered from the Kootenay Canal today.
Nelson Search and Rescue, along with an RCMP dive team, had been searching the canal since 2 a.m. Sunday, after a motorcycle accident threw both Evin and his passenger into the waterway. The passenger was able to make it to shore, but was badly injured. Evin drowned. Evin was the owner of recently-opened Black Russian Skateboard store on Columbia Avenue.
