A motorcyclist was sent to hospital Nov. 5 after a collision at the intersection of Broadwater Road and the Robson Access Road.

Castlegar RCMP Sgt. Laurel Mathew said police received a call about an accident at about 5:35 p.m.

“It appears that a truck was going to turn onto the Robson Access Road, and didn’t see the motorcycle (which was going straight),” she said. “The motorcycle couldn’t stop in time, and ran into the side of the pick-up truck.”

The truck had a load of unsecured plywood in the back, and the collision sent the wood careening into a third vehicle, which was stopped at the intersection.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with a badly broken ankle, but the other two drivers were uninjured.

The driver of the truck is being charged under the Motor Vehicle Act with failing to yield to vehicle, failing to secure load and driving contrary to restrictions ( he is supposed to display an “N”and did not)

No names are being released in connection with the incident.
