Canadian military vehicle convoy storms Castlegar

Western Command Military Vehicle Historical Society has assembled a large group of former Canadian Military vehicles that were on display today from 4 to 6 p.m. in front of the Castlegar Legion. The purpose of the convoy is to raise both youth and public awareness of Canada’s Veterans and the roles they played in the country’s Military history. This convoyl commemorate our Veterans and will serve as a means of showing support and recognition of their efforts. Veterans Affairs Canada and the Royal Canadian Legion Branches along the route have been closely involved in the planning process for this convoy. 
The vehicles on the convoy range from motorcycles and jeeps to large cargo trucks and halftracks. The vehicles agesl range from the 1940s (World War 2) through to the 1980s and all vehicles are privately owned and maintained.
