Police release the name of fatality in this morning's accident near Thrums

Police have released the name of a woman killed in an auto crash near Thrums this morning.
Fifty-six-year-old Gwen Elizabeth Kalyniuk of Nelson, died when her SUV veered into the oncoming lane and struck a tractor-trailer. No one else was injured in the crash, which happened about 8:30 a.m. on Hwy 3A near Thrums.
Police are attributing the crash to poor road conditions, as slush and accumulated snow caused Kalyniuk to lose control of the vehicle.
Next of kin have been notified.
