UPDATED: Whitewater/Red Mountain off to Final Four
Whitewater/Red Mountain is off to the Final Four of the Powder Magazine in ‘Ski Town Throw Down’ contest.
Whitewater/Red Mountain dispatched Colorado’s Crested Butte 3576-3263 in two days of voting that ended Thursday night.
The West Kootenay duo, winners of the Backscratcher title, now advances to meet Sandpoint beginning Monday and running until Tuesday.
During the ride Whitewater/Red Mountain dispatched Sugerloaf from the East Coast and Whitefish, Montana.
Bozeman is the other Final Four place and awaits the winner of Fernie/Jackson Teton Valley. The vote is happening right now.

Day one goes to Whitewater/Red Mountain.
After one day of voting Whitewater/Red Mountain leads Colorado’s Crested Butte by just over a 100 votes in the Powder Magazine in ‘Ski Town Throw Down’ contest.
But it’s not over yet.
There remains another solid day of voting to determine which area goes into the fourth round.
If you’ve voted, great.
If you know friends who haven’t, get on the blower to get them to vote.
Polls close at 9 p.m. PST Thursday.

Bring on Colorado’s Crested Butte as Whitewater/Red Mountain enter round three of ‘Ski Town Throw Down’ contest
First there was Sugerloaf from the East Coast of the US.
Gone in 60 seconds.
Then Whitefish, Montana tried to mount a challenge.
Another worthy opponent dusted off.
Now Colorado’s Crested Butte is about to take on Whitewater/Red Mountain during round three of Powder Magazine’s “Ski Town Throw Down” contest.
Crested Butte advanced to battle the West Kootenay’s finest after knocking off Steamboat Spring Colorado during the second round of voting in the Back Scratcher Region.
The contest is designed to find the best ski town in North America.
Ski areas were slotted into brackets similar to the NCAA Basketball March Madness tournament.

Voting is open for 48 hours — December 12-13 (Wednesday & Thursday).
After the amazing opening weekend at both resorts, it’s a no brainer who is the best town.
