It’s time for a little fling this spring, as the eighth annual Spring Fling takes over Kinsman Park this Saturday. Organizer Peter Laurie said the one-day event will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with more than 25 vendors, two three-on-three hockey rinks, a main stage with live entertainment, and more.

“The fire truck, police and ambulance will be there, and Search and Rescue with their boat,” he said. “There’ll be a busker’s stage, the Show ‘N Shine, games and entertainment for the kids …”

He said downtown streets will be closed off for three blocks, from Pharmasave to Kinsman Park, and this year should see the best turn-out yet.

“It’s a pretty well-known event, now,” he said. “We had a record number of teams last year for the three-on-three tourney.”

Speaking of which, teams wishing to register can call Laurie at 250-365-5655, or check out their website at http://www.castlegarspringfling.ca/
