Get ready for the second annual Spring and Garden Farm Fair coming up on May 2 at the Pass Creek Exhibition Grounds from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

“There are approximately 40,000 households in the West Kootenay and Boundary area.  If each household spent $5 on locally produced food, this would bring $200,000 into the local economy in one week,” said Donna Smith, president of the Pass Creek Regional Exhibition Society adding that if you multiply 200,000 by 52 weeks, you will begin to realize how important local farming is to our community.

“The second annual Spring Farm and Garden Fair is held May 2, at the Pass Creek Exhibition Grounds from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. to help promote and support local farmers,” she said. “Please come out and enjoy a great day, you can swap, sell or trade and meet your local farmers. Enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride, bunny petty zoo, concession and ATM on site.”

The event is free to the public. Farmers and vendors are asked please register on line at www.passcreekfair.com

“This is another community event brought to you by P.C.R.E.S. in partnership with Area I, Area J and CBT. We are also pleased to be hosting on 20th Annual Fall Fair on Sept. 25 and 26 and would like to host Christmas in the Park in partnership with the City of Castlegar on the Sunday of their Winterfest weekend,” Smith said. “Our very dedicated members and volunteers work very hard to bring you these incredible festivities.”
