The media and public are invited to join The City of Castlegar Mayor and Council as they break ground on the Columbia Avenue Complete Streets Project. This project is an investment in the City’s infrastructure and helps to support the City’s Asset Management Plan.

Once the work is complete, businesses and residents will notice several significant improvements, including better road quality, improved sidewalk safety and enhanced accessibility along Columbia Avenue. The improvements will also result in improved mobility options and ultimately promote economic development and tourism in Castlegar.

Road and utility work will be commencing the week of May 21st, 2018 with completion set for October 2018.

The Ground Breaking will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22 at the corner of Columbia Avenue and Selkirk Avenue – by Ready Engineering, across from Mohawk Gas Station.

Partially funded through the New Building Canada Fund – Small Communities Fund Program
