Humpty Dumpty(previously called Egghead), the beautiful bronze sculpture by artist Kimber Fiebiger, was featured in Sculpturewalk 2015, and has since been sitting on the amphitheatre wall outside the Castlegar & District Public Library, delighting all the children and families who visit him.

Recently he was vandalized and pushed off the wall, and he was very much missed by the community. We’re happy to have put him back in his place, but we need to find a way to make the library wall his permanent home so he can continue to be loved by the children and the community.

Mercer Celgar had been leasing the piece for the library since 2015, but since April of this year Castlegar Sculpturewalk has been continuing to support Humpty.

Castlegar resident Andrea Lamont, a mother and art-lover, has offered to spearhead a fundraising campaign to to help us put Humpty back on the wall forever, so that he can become a permanent resident of Castlegar

Andrea has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for the purchase of the piece, which would be donated to the Castlegar & District Public Library. Sculpturewalk is waiving all commission on thissale. Please go to https://www.gofundme.com/help-save-humptydumptyfor more details. Any and all donations are gracefully accepted! If the total can’t be raised the funds will be put towards continuing the lease.

As part of this fundraising initiative, Andrea has organized a fundraising event at the Castlegar & District Public Library this Saturday, September 1st from 10am-12pm. We will be crafting our own Humpty Dumpties and enjoying some snacks and drinks. Donations will be $5 a child.  More details on other fundraisers coming soon!
