Ignite Kootenay Women's Conference to offer subsidize tickets, daycare, and donation to Chrissy's Place

The goal of this two-day conference has always been to bring Kootenay women together to celebrate how truly exceptional we are, but also to motivate us to be even better. To create a community of inclusion and acceptance, while at the same time, learn ways to go after the lives we want. Every woman will leave the event with new friends, and tangible, real life tools and advice to transform her life.

It has always been my own personal goal to have every woman who wants to attend be able to, no matter her circumstances. Individuals have stepped up to subsidize tickets for those who need financial assistance, and Silly Monkeys Childcare will provide childminding free of charge. Being unable to afford a ticket, or not having someone to watch your children will NOT be a reason someone doesn’t attend.

So many Castlegar businesses have stepped up to donate or discount products and services to help keep the costs of the conference as low as possible. Their generosity will make it possible for this event to cover expenses and perhaps even make a profit. And two great things will come from this profit. Since this weekend is all about women helping women, a part of the proceeds will go to Chrissy’s Place. This organization is such an essential part of our community, and being able to contribute to it is so important to the organizers of this event. In addition, an Ignite Kootenay Women scholarship fund will be set up, helping graduating girls pursue their post-secondary dreams. Continuing education is a critical component for successful, empowered women, and being able to provide young women with assistance in this area will be such an honor.

If you are a business or individual who would like to be a part of making this weekend a success, whether by donating services, products or funds to subsidize tickets, or help cover childcare costs, please email ignitekootenaywomen@gmail.com
