Break and Enter Suspect Sentenced and Released

A Castlegar man has been released with 18 months probation after serving months in custody awaiting trial, according to RCMP Acting Sgt. Brett Turner.

“On July 19, 2019, after committing a string of Break and Enters to residences in the City of Castlegar and an offence of Driving While Disqualified, 40-year-old Castlegar resident Chad Carr was arrested and held in custody.

“On Oct. 21, after pleading guilty to 4 charges that included Break and Enter to a Residence, Forcible Entry and Drive While Disqualified, Carr was sentenced to 4 1/2 months jail including time already served. CARR also received 18 months probation. 

“Carr was recently released from custody after serving 4 1/2 months while awaiting trial.”
