Woman sent to hospital after collision near Teck turn-off

An MVI early Monday morning saw one woman sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Trail RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.

Wicentowich said the call came in at 4:33 a.m.

“A 41-year-old woman driving a Hyundai Genesis was heading southbound on Hwy 22 and made a left turn at a green light,” Wicentowich said, adding the Genesis was struck by a northbound Toyota Tacoma at the Aldridge Avenue intersection. 

The 38-year-old male driver of the Tacoma and shaken but uninjured, while the woman was sent to Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
