Castlegar & District Community Services Society is hosting some exciting events for free during Victims and Survivors of Crime Week happening November 14-20.

Workshop 1 – Enjoy a workshop about writing towards mental well-being where therapeutic uses of writing are explored. Open to anyone interested to support this issue and who’d like to connect with others. Pen, notebook, coffee/tea and muffins will be provided. This workshop will be offered in person if people have a vaccine passport, but if there’s enough interest it can also be offered a second time by zoom. Limited space available. This is happening on November 16 from 10 to noon.

Workshop 2 – Take part in an online yoga class on November 17 from 10 to 11 am. It’s a very gentle flow yoga class that anyone with no previous yoga experience is able to enjoy!

Workshop 3 – Have fun with a mask and story building puppet workshop. Learn some puppet animation skills, after you sculpt a mask and begin to create a story. Within the carefully curated safety of the group we will begin to unpack some of those big feelings and emotions around this issue. Pizza and beverages will be provided – youth (12+) and parents welcome! Vaccine passport required. Limited space available. This is happening on November 17 from 6-9 pm.

Please register for any of these workshops at 250-365-2104 or email vscw@cdcss.ca expressing which workshop you have interest for and providing your name and best phone number to contact you.

Watch virtual performances to raise awareness and provide support towards this issue. Check out our Facebook or our website at www@cdcss.ca.

We welcome you at Community Services anytime during office hours to learn about the different programs and enjoy free swag.
