PRESENTATIONS

1.  Tammy Verigin-Burk presented a 2021 update on the Castlegar & District Chamber of Commerce operations, including the Visitors Centre, Destination Castlegar, and Economic Development.

2.  Cheryl Gnyp provided an update on the Castlegar & District Physician Recruitment Program.

ENGINEERING CONSULTING SERVICES

Council received a report from the Manager of Engineering & Infrastructure and awarded Urban Systems Ltd. the Engineering Consulting Services Contract for a three-year period to December 31, 2024. This Services Contract will streamline efficiencies and processes by having a consultant, who can act as an extension of the City’s Engineering Department, available to assist on a wide range of projects at predetermined rates.

AMENDED DEVELOPMENT PERMIT 3/21 – HABITAT FOR HUMANITY (REPORT 22-24)

Council received a Report from the Manager of Planning Development and Sustainability seeking Council consideration of amended Development Permit 3/21 for the purposes of form and character of a multi-family development by Habitat for Humanity at 560 8th Street. This will be considered for adoption at the March 21, 2022 Regular Council Meeting.

COUNCIL REMUNERATION

Council appointed three community members and Mayor Duff to a Council Remuneration Review Select Committee to conduct a review of remuneration paid to Mayor and Councillors, as is required by Council Indemnity Bylaw 835.

RECORDS & INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

Council approved Records and Information Management Digitization Disposal Policy 1-17 which sets out the conditions for the disposal of original source records once they have been digitized.

COMMUNITY PROJECT

Council approved lighting the Kinnaird overpass to blue and green in May for Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month.
