KIJHL Scoreboard – Saturday, Nov. 9/24:

Merritt Centennials (6) vs Castlegar Rebels (2)

Six second period goals lifted the Merritt Centennials past the Castlegar Rebels. The Centennials scored three times on the power-play, including the winner by Sam Giangualano. Dylan Ruff led the Centennials with two goals and three points, while Mathis Perron made 35 saves. Haden Heide was pulled in favour of Mason Hillier after allowing five goals in 35 minutes of action. Jordan Brunham and Evan Calder scored for the Rebels.

Fernie Ghostriders (2) vs Columbia Valley Rockies (3)

Ashton Sledz pulled the Columbia Valley Rockies to victory with 18 seconds remaining in regulation time over the Fernie Ghostriders with his eighth goal of the season. Jaiden Jakubowski stopped 29 of 31 shots for the Rockies, giving up goals to Braeden Jack and Coden Fournier. Lukas Masters and Carter Velker also scored for the Rockies. Nick Kunyk stopped 25 shots for the Ghostriders.

Golden Rockets (1) vs Creston Valley Thunder Cats (2) OT

Brendan Calahasen netted the winner for the Thunder Cats at 4:23 of overtime against the Golden Rockets, who struck first on a goal by Brayden Bissell. Brendan Smith had another stellar performance in goal for the Thunder Cats with a 48-save effort. Riley Deck stopped 25 for the Rockets.

Princeton Posse (3) vs 100 Mile House Wranglers (4)

After losing their first meeting of the season to the Posse 7-1 on Oct. 6, the 100 Mile House Wranglers got some redemption with Luke McFarlane scoring the winner eight minutes into the third period. Jaden Rusznak and Everett Boutcher each had a goal and an assist for the Wranglers. Tyson Endall earned his second straight win for the Wranglers with a 36-save performance. Bryton Morrow led the Posse with a goal and an assist, while Gibson Horne made 28 saves.

Revelstoke Grizzlies (4) vs Chase Heat (0)

Devin Degenstein made 33 saves, including 14 in the third period, to earn his first career KIJHL shutout against the Chase Heat. Diego Smith scored the winner in the first period with his second of the season. He led the Grizzlies with three points, and Jett Patola had a goal and an assist. Meyer Gaume stopped 28 shots for the Heat.

Kelowna Chiefs (4) vs Sicamous Eagles (2)

A four-goal first period was enough for the Kelowna Chiefs to earn a victory against the Sicamous Eagles. Owen Miller scored the winner, while Owen Ivanov, recently praised by Chiefs assistant coach Chase Witala in the KIJHL Notebook, scored twice. Max Fowle made 32 saves in the win, giving up goals to Austin Horbachewsky and Jackson Maloney, with his first KIJHL goal. Michael Makowsky stopped all 34 shots he faced in 48 minutes of action after relieving Zach Veninsky.

Kimberley Dynamiters (6) vs Nelson Leafs (7) OT

Quinn Ramsay potted the overtime winner for the Nelson Leafs in an offensive showdown against the Kimberley Dynamiters. Ramsay scored the winner with his 11th of the season. The Leafs led 4-1 after the first period and Xaiden Bignell had three points for the Leafs, while Jacob Armstrong made 33 saves. The Dynamiters exploded with four third period goals to tie it at 6-6. Tristan Weill led the Dynamiters with two goals and three points, and Marc Samyn made 12 saves.

Spokane Braves (4) vs Williams Lake Mustangs (5) OT

Declan Pocock scored twice, including the overtime winner, for the Williams Lake Mustangs against the Spokane Braves. Alex Jessey made 53 saves for the win. Bronson Pankey made 39 saves and Deegan Sellers led the Braves with three points.

Osoyoos Coyotes (4) vs Beaver Valley Nitehawks (2)

Hunter Arntsen had a 49-save performance and Mason Rudolph scored the winner for the Osoyoos Coyotes against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks. Austin Cooper led the Coyotes with two goals. Connor Stojan made 28 saves with Owen Dickson and Ollie Clement scoring for the Nitehawks, both short-handed.
