March 20/26 Rebels’ Gamble signs with ACHA’s University of Flint-Michigan Wolverines
Josh Gamble of the Castlegar Rebels has committed to play for the University of Flint-Michigan Wolverines in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 1 next fall.
The Wilcox, Sask., native led the Rebels in points with 34 in 44 games, and led the team in points for a third straight season.
“We really like his offensive ability and believe that he will immediately fill a hole that we were lacking last season with his offensive touch,” Wolverines head coach Nicholas Karstens said. “He will be looked on right away to be an impact top-six forward and will help bolster our powerplay.”
“We are proud of Josh as he continues on his athletic and academic journey. Gamble played over 140 games in a Rebels uniform and made a positive impact both on and off the ice,” said Rebels head coach-assistant general manager Alex Evin.
The Wolverines were 11-24-0 last season and placed fifth among seven teams in the Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League.
