On April 15, 2026, Trail RCMP obtained a search warrant for a residence in Fruitvale.

Trail RCMP received a report on April 10, 2026, related to a firearms complaint. As a result of the investigation, officers determined that firearms offences had occurred and applied for a search warrant at a residence on Mills Road in Fruitvale.

Officers conducted a risk assessment and determined that the assistance of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (SED ERT) was required to ensure officer and public safety. On the morning of April 15, 2026, Trail RCMP, with the assistance of SED ERT, executed the search warrant at the residence. One man was arrested during the execution of the search warrant and remains in custody pending a court appearance.

“Trail RCMP would like to thank the public for their patience during this dynamic police incident,” says Cpl. Brett Urano, BC RCMP spokesperson. “The use of SED ERT was essential in keeping all parties safe, and their assistance was greatly appreciated.”

Trail RCMP continues to investigate and requests that anyone with information contact the Trail RCMP at 250‑364‑2566.
