Community invited to grand opening celebration on June 18
The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) is inviting its residents and visitors to celebrate the grand opening of Moonlit Meadows, a new yurt at Beaver Valley Family Park and Campground, during a special ribbon-cutting ceremony and community open house on Thursday, June 18, from 4 to 7:00 p.m.
The event offers the public an opportunity to step inside the new facility, explore the campground’s amenities, and discover the many ways the yurt can be used – from overnight stays and family gatherings to wellness retreats, business meetings, weddings, and recreation programs.
Visitors can enjoy complimentary hamburgers and hot dogs, enter to win draw prizes, and learn more about booking opportunities for the new space.
“Moonlit Meadows is an exciting addition that expands how people can experience and enjoy Beaver Valley Family Park and Campground, whether they’re visiting for a night, a weekend, or a special occasion,” said Ali Grieve, RDKB Electoral Area A Director. “From family reunions and weddings to retreats and overnight stays, this new space will give people even more reasons to spend time in the Beaver Valley and enjoy everything the park has to offer.”
Located close to Champion Lakes Provincial Park, Beaver Valley Family Park and Campground has become a popular destination for campers, recreation groups, and community events. The addition of the yurt was made possible through funding provided by the Province of British Columbia through the Growing Communities Fund. It further expands the park’s offerings and creates a versatile indoor gathering space that can be enjoyed throughout the season.
“We’re grateful for the provincial funding that helped bring Moonlit Meadows to life,” said Mark Daines, RDKB’s Manager of Facilities and Recreation. “The new yurt complements the campground’s existing amenities and creates exciting new opportunities for recreation, tourism, retreats, celebrations, and community gatherings in the Beaver Valley.” he adds.
Guests attending the grand opening will also have the opportunity to explore the many amenities available at Beaver Valley Family Park and Campground, including:
• 19 serviced tent and trailer sites with water and electricity
