Castlegar/Trail search warrants executed in drug trafficking investigation

Castlegar and Trail RCMP executed two search warrants on rural properties related to a joint investigation.
On September 15, 2026, Castlegar RCMP and Trail RCMP, with assistance from the RCMP Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed search warrants at two rural properties in relation to a joint drug trafficking investigation.
The search warrants were executed at residences located in the 8600 block of Waneta Highway near Waneta and the 1000 block of Mountain Street in Robson.
Multiple occupants were taken into custody at the Waneta property, and one man was taken into custody at the Robson property. All individuals were taken into custody without incident.
As a precaution, Robson Community School was briefly placed in a hold and secure during the police operation. There was no direct threat to students or staff, the measure was taken to ensure their safety while officers conducted enforcement activities in the neighbourhood.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
