Trail traffic was badly constricted for about an hour-and-a-half this morning after a three-vehicle incident on Second Avenue and Victoria Street (Highway 3B).

Trail RCMP Cpl. Mike Wilson says the call came in at roughly 10 a.m.

“Someone tried to make a left turn and got into a head-on collision. One of those two cars flipped on its side and slid into a third vehicle stopped on Second,” Wilson said. “Four people were involved – three drivers and one passenger.

“One person had to be extricated from the wreck by the fire department (with the Jaws of Life), and two were sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

He said police are still investigating the crash to determine if any charges are warranted. He also reminded motorists that a better-safe-then-sorry approach is the smart way to go in traffic-heavy intersections like this one.

“There are pedestrians, vehicles, cyclists … It’s a very busy intersection, with a lot of movement and potential hazard,” he said.
