On July 9, at approximately 11:09 a.m., the Castlegar RCMP were called to an address in Robson, where an emotionally distraught female was reported to be damaging a residence with an axe.

Upon police arrival, Castlegar RCMP officers found the woman outside of the residence, where it is alleged that the woman, who, while armed with an axe, repeatedly made threatening gestures and approaches towards the RCMP officers.
