Tomorrow’s the big day – the fifth annual Spring Fling Festival is ready to see Castlegar celebrate the season.

Spring Fling committee chair Peter Laurie says the good times will begin at 11 a.m. and wrap up at 6 p.m., with music, vendors, games, and tons of free fun for the whole family.

“We’ve got two rinks for the three-on-three hockey again, since that’s been so popular,” he said. “We left hockey sign-up sheets at all the schools, as well as in places around town like the Mohawk and the downtown Shell. You can also register tomorrow morning at the venue.”

More than 20 vendors will have booths in and around Kinsmen Park, and the Show ‘N Shine car show will add some glitz and glamour to the city’s downtown core.

A main stage at the Kinsmen Park will have new entertainment offerings every hour, including the musical stylings of the students of local Supercat Studios (home of the Rock ‘n Roll Boot Camp).

A second buskers stage between the car show and hockey rinks will promise yet more entertainment to keep everyone engaged.

For the little ones, there’ll be games galore – kids can win tickets at the various games and trade those tickets in for nifty prizes – all free of charge.

“Teh ‘free’ part makes it a great family event in which everyone can participate,” Laurie said.
