Castle Wood Village, which first opened its doors in 2002, recently celebrated the completion of a new addition that will provide more housing options for local seniors.

The $4,344,000 expansion of Castle Wood Village is a joint project between Columbia Basin Trust, Golden Life Management and Pace Setter Construction.

“CBT is proud to be a partner in the expansion of Castle Wood Village, which is helping to meet the growing need for excellent seniors care and housing in the region,” says Johnny Strilaeff, CBT Vice President of Investments. “We invest in these properties not only because they provide positive, long-term value to CBT’s investment portfolio, but we believe this is a way CBT can make a real difference in the lives of many families.”

The addition of 33 new suites for a total of 110 independent and assisted living suites makes Castle Wood Village the largest of its kind in the West Kootenay. It provides comfortable housing options and the security of various support systems to help seniors enjoy an active and independent lifestyle.

The expansion of Castle Wood Village brings CBT’s ownership interests to a total of eight seniors’ housing care facilities in the region, offering a total of 803 living suites.
