The Castlegar RCMP are investigating three mischief related incidents that occurred over the past two weeks. The culprit(s) have removed various newspapers from local dispensers and dumped them off of the Highway 3 overpass and Kinnaird overpass. This type of act also poses traffic hazards to motorists and pedestrians utilizing the roadway when items are being thrown off the overpasses. The culprit(s) need to realize the costs associated to cleaning up the papers off the roads, advertising/printing costs and the impact from lost advertising to local businesses and community groups. Clean up costs have totaled $1,000, thus far.

Further, the Castlegar RCMP are investigating various incidents of mischief to the washrooms located at Millennium and Kinsman Parks as well as to the Castlegar Public Library. The culprit(s)
are responsible for painting graffiti inside the washrooms and on the corridor wall area of the library. The roof of the washrooms located at Millennium park was also damaged. Damages thus far for all of these mischief related incidents have been estimated at approximately $4,000.

Should you have information on these occurrences please contact the Castlegar RCMP at 250-365-7721 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
