On July 26, officers from the West Kootenay Traffic Services and Castlegar RCMP executed a Search Warrant at a Suspected Marihuana Grow Operation in the 3100 Block Of Broadwater Road in Robson.

Seized from the residence was 1/4 pound of high-grade marihuana suspected to have been a product of the grow op. Also seized from the yard of the residence were 98 marihuana plants. Remains of a very sophisticated marihuana grow operation were located in the outbuilding of the property and it appeared that it had been recently dismantled. While the plants had been removed, the equipment remained and officers estimate approximately $15,000 worth of growing equipment was seized.
The investigation began on July 8, following a traffic stop by a member of the West Kootenay Traffic Services. The stop took place on Broadwater Road, and a small amount of marihuana was seized from the resident of the suspect home.   The 30-year-old female resident of the home was arrested upon execution of a Search Warrant and was released on A Promise To Appear In Castlegar Court in September 2010.
The Castlegar RCMP would like to remind the public that the summer is a busy time for the growing of outdoor marihuana plants. If you see plants that you suspect might be marihuana please call local police and the matter will be promptly investigated.
