Castlegar man charged after police raid grow op
A Castlegar man is facing several charges after the May-5 police raid of a home in the 2100 block of Highway 3A. Castlegar RCMP Sgt. Laurel Mathew said 38-year-old Mikhail Reid appeared in court on May 9, facing charges of Production of Marihuana, Possession of Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Psilocybin). He was released on several conditions, pending his next court appearance of June 22. “During the search (on May 9), a marihuana grow operation was located, containing 570 Marihuana plants, 1 kg of marihuana bud, and 164 grams of Psilocybin (also known as ‘magic mushrooms’,” Mathew said, adding that anyone with information about illegal grow ops is encouraged to contact the Castlegar RCMp detachment at 250-365-7721.
