Castlegar woman pleads guilty to attempted murder
A 50-year-old Castlegar woman entered a guilty plea in provincial court Monday and is being held in custody unttil her sentencing.
Robyn Mackay was charged with attempted murder after an incident Aug. 15.
“At (about) 12:15 a.m., Castlegar RCMP received a report of an elderly adult male being the victim of a stabbing incident within his residence,” said Staff Sgt. Dan Seibel.
“RCMP attended the 800 block of Sixth Avenue (and found he) had been repeatedly stabbed with a kitchen knife in various areas of his body.”
The man, Mackay’s 73-year-old father, has recovered from his injuries.
