Local man gets jail time for sexual assault
A 23-year-old Trail man has been convicted of sexual assault and sentenced to 34 months in jail following an investigation by Castlegar RCMP involving a young teenage girl, according to Sgt. Laurel Mathew.
“Since he has been in custody for four months, he will serve the additional 30 months now,” she said. “Police are not releasing the identity of the male in order to protect the identity of the victim in this matter. He was also placed on a condition which prohibits him from being anywhere there may be a child present for the remainder of his life.”
