Police are asking for help to locate a truckload of tires valued at over $40,000 that was stolen from the Grand Forks Kal Tire shop. The break-in took place on Thursday, Jun. 23 sometime during the night and the thieves made off with numerous new and re-tread tires.

“The outside fenced compound had been broken into,” said Corporal Richard Lanz, operations supervisor at the Grand Forks RCMP detachment. “Due to the large number of tires stolen, it is believed that a trailer had to be used in this theft.”

Lanz is calling on the public’s assistance in recovering the stolen tires and solving the crime.

If anyone has any information regarding the break, enter and theft please contact the RCMP at 250-442-8288, or phone Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Callers for Crimestoppers do not have to provide their identities and may be eligible for a reward.
